Dryers can be divided into four basic areas. The control panel is one area, the door switch and interior light can be considered the second area, the drive motor and its parts and lastly the burner assembly and any required components. The control panel does just what is says it controls the dryer and it includes the timer, start switch and the selector switches or knobs. The door switch and interior light which controls the opening and closing of the dryer and provides light in those dryers that have the feature.
If the dryer door is not closed the dryer will not run and if it does then that means something is wrong. The motor and its components is what circulates the hot air and causes dryers to turn. The burner assembly contains a heating element and generally between one to several thermostats. The timer controls how long electricity is supplied to the heating element and therefore how long the dryer will run.
Dryers repair can be performed at home. If the dryer does not work or will not heat their may be a problem with the wiring. The wiring may be damages or loose. This can be fixed by replacing the dryers� power code or any other problematic wires. Dryers that suddenly stop tumbling the clothes may have a problem with the belt component. The belt is the main component responsible for turning the clothes drum and if something happens to it, it will need to be replaced.
One of the main problems that lead to dryers repair is that the dryer does not dry as quickly or efficiently as previously. This is generally due to a problem with the vent. There may be something interfering with the vent duct that is located from the dryer to the outside of the house. Individuals should make sure that the duct or vents is clean and remove any built up lint or other foreign substances. Dryers that get too hot are also will also require some type of dryers repair. This could be the results of a faulty cycling thermostat or a vent system that has been in obstructed in some type of way. Make sure to remove any lint from the vent system and if necessary replace the cycling thermostat.
